Tamil supporters have opposed certain scenes in Inam and in fact one of the member of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam filed a police complaint in order to stop the release of Inam.
Following the controversies now Inam team has accepted to remove fives scenes from the film, they are as follows
- School scene where some LTTE people show the war video to children.
- Scene where a Buddhist monk gives Pomegranate to Tamil youngsters.
- Scene where a Sri Lankan army man having a kid's photograph in his hand.
- A dialogue which says " Leader has been Killed" has been muted.
- Information in the end credit where it was informed 38000 people were killed in the war.
